The Rainbow

Our positive behavior management system

Your child may come home and talk about their color on the rainbow.  This is a behavior progress chart that uses the colors of the rainbow.  Each day, the students begin on red and work through the other colors toward purple.  They move up a level in many ways.  They can be asked by a peer or an adult for doing kind deeds or having an idea to share during learning times.

It is important for you to know that your child will not be on purple every day.  I find that it is important for students to be realistic and to monitor their days.  Not everyday is an outstanding day for anyone.  If your child is on green, blue, or purple, there is no need for concern.  They are all great colors to achieve.  If your child is on orange or yellow, look for a note to accompany these colors.  If your child is on red, there is a reason.  I will call home as soon as possible to inform you of any concerns I have, and to work toward having an action plan to aid your child in the areas of concern.

I look forward to working with your family to create a successful year in both behavior and academics.
