Reconciliation is celebrated at St. Joe's every Saturday from 4:00-4:30pm.  For private confessions outside of this time frame, please contact the parish office.

First Reconciliation and Eucharist:  In the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, preparation for the first reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist normally occurs during a child's second grade year because the age of seven is considered the age of reason in the Church.  This is the age in which children are able to begin to understand right from wrong and the concept of sin as well as begin to form an understanding of the Eucharist.

While the Church recognizes the age of 7 for the age of reason, the Church also understands that every child matures at a different rate.  If you believe that your child is not ready to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist, the reception of these Sacraments may be delayed.  Please work with the Director of Religious Education (DRE) on this matter.  In some cases, a child may be ready a year early.  In such case, if you as parents believe that a child is ready to receive these Sacraments, you may contact the DRE to set up a meeting with you and your child.  If the DRE is in agreement with you about the maturity level of your child she will refer you and your child to the pastor who will meet with you to determine if approval to prepare for the Sacraments will be granted.  Please understand that this decision will be made on the basis of the maturity of your child and not on any other basis (i.e. to be with sibling, convenience, etc.)
